Below you find the descriptions of the classes we offer at RFGC! Please note that the child-to-coach ratio may vary based on the coach's seniority.

Jungle Gym Program
Ages: 18 months through 6 years
Movement, Melody & Me (Parent/Child)
Ages: 0–5 yearsÂ
Duration: 30 minutesÂ
Gymnast to Coach Ratio: 6:1Â
This playful class invites children to join their parent, grandparent, or special adult in a journey of creative movement through singing, instrument exploration, self-discovery, and social interaction. Participants will also be introduced to our Jungle Gym gymnastics equipment. One adult (18+) must attend with each child. Classes meet in the Community Room on the 2nd Floor of RFGC and the Jungle Gym area.
Koalas (Parent/Child)
Ages: 18 months - 2 yearsÂ
Duration: 30 minutesÂ
Gymnast to Coach Ratio: 6:1Â
In this parent and child class, children are guided through creative movement, songs, self-discovery, and social interaction. One adult (18+) must attend with each child, and no additional siblings are allowed in class.
Monkeys (Parent/Child)
Ages: 3–4 yearsÂ
Duration: 45 minutesÂ
Gymnast to Coach Ratio: 5:1 or 6:1 with a senior instructorÂ
In this engaging class, children aged 3-4 are joined by their parent, grandparent, or caregiver. Participants will develop motor skills, social skills, self-awareness, and self-confidence while learning basic gymnastics skills and movements in a fun environment. One adult (18+) must attend with each Monkey, and no additional siblings are allowed in the gym.
Monkeys 4+
Ages: 4 and overÂ
Duration: 45 minutesÂ
Gymnast to Coach Ratio: 5:1Â
This class is designed for children aged 4-5 who have prior gymnastics experience. Participants will continue to build on their skills in a supportive environment.
Tigers
Ages: 5-6 yearsÂ
Duration: 45 minutesÂ
Gymnast to Coach Ratio: 5:1Â
In a fun and positive environment, Tigers will learn basic tumbling, bars, and balance beam skills while focusing on positive social interaction and building self-confidence.
Boys Only
Ages: 5-6 yearsÂ
Duration: 45 minutesÂ

Similar to the Monkeys and Tigers classes, this class introduces boys to gymnastics events, including parallel bars, rings, and the mushroom (training for pommel horse).
Twirl and Tumble
Ages: 3–5 years and 5–7 yearsÂ
Duration: 45 minutesÂ
This dance and gymnastics combination class is offered in two age groups: Twirl & Tumble (Ages 3-5) and Twirl & Tumble 5+ (Ages 5-7). Beginner ballet shoes are recommended. The dancer to coach ratio is 5:1.
Recreational Classes
Ages: 6 years and up, or for students who have mastered skills associated with the following levels.
Beginner 1
The Beginner 1 class is designed for gymnasts who are new to gymnastics and are 7 years old or older, or for those who have passed our Tigers level. This class provides beginning-level instruction in basic skills for tumbling, vaulting, uneven bars, and balance beam. No previous experience is required. Gymnasts graduating from Tigers (as per coach recommendation) should register for this class.Â

Beginner 2
The Beginner 2 class is intended for gymnasts who have received beginning-level gymnastics instruction and have passed the Beginner 1 level.Â

Beginner 3
The Beginner 3 class is designed for gymnasts who have passed the Beginner 2 level or can perform the Beginner 2 skill set.Â

Intermediate 1
The Intermediate 1 class is for gymnasts who have passed the Beginner 3 level or can perform the Beginner 3 skill set.Â
Duration: 1.5 hoursÂ

Intermediate 2
The Intermediate 2 class is for gymnasts who can perform the skills learned at the Intermediate 1 level or have passed the Intermediate 1 class.Â
Duration: 1.5 hoursÂ
Gymnast to Coach Ratio: 8:1
Intermediate 3
The Intermediate 3 class is for gymnasts who can perform the skills learned at the Intermediate 2 level or have passed the Intermediate 2 class. This class will prepare participants for the competitive team and is by invitation only.Â

Boys-Specific Classes
Boys are welcome to enroll in all other classes, but we also offer the following boys-only classes:
Boys Basic Events
Ages: 7–16 years
Description: This class is designed for boys new to gymnastics. Participants will practice skills on the floor, vault, bars, and receive an introduction to men's gymnastics events.
Duration: 55 minutes
Gymnast to Coach Ratio: 6:1
Boys Intermediate
Ages: 9–16 years
Description: This class is for boys who have mastered the basics and have either tested out of the Boys Basic Events class or have taken a year or more of the Boys Intermediate Class in the past.
Participants will utilize all boys' gymnastics events, including vault, floor, rings, bars, parallel bars, mushroom, pommel horse, and pommel vault. The class also includes high-impact conditioning to boost physical activity and improve strength, flexibility, and coordination. Evaluations begin in this program, encouraging gymnasts to build on previously acquired skills as they progress.

Boys Tumbling and Trampoline
Ages: 7–10 years
Description: This class focuses on basic gymnastics tumbling and trampoline skills, providing a fun and engaging environment for young boys to develop their abilities.
Duration: 55 minutes

Other Offerings
Adaptive Gymnastics
Our Adaptive class is designed for boys and girls with special needs, ages 5 and up. This class provides an opportunity for gymnasts to develop physically and socially through engaging gymnastics activities and events. Participants will explore gymnastics equipment with the assistance of
specialized coaches, ensuring a comfortable and safe environment while having fun!
Children will learn gymnastics skills in small increments, building one skill upon another. This class is tailored to engage a special needs child’s sensory functions, including vision, hearing, tactile sensation, body awareness, and movement. We serve children with various special needs, including but not limited to Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome, and minor brain injuries.

Tumbling for Dancers (Advanced)
This advanced class focuses on side and front aerials, front and back walkover variations, front and back handsprings, front tucks, and more! Participants should have both walkovers and cartwheels to enroll in this class.
Duration: 60 minutes
Home School Classes (School Year Only)
Boys Home School: This daytime class is offered to boys aged 4 years and older who are homeschooled. The class will work on a variety of skills appropriate for each gymnast.
Duration: 45 minutes
Beginner 1-3 Home School: This daytime class is for children in Beginner 1 to Beginner 3 or those aged 7 years and older. Participants will work on a variety of skills tailored to their individual needs.
Duration: 75 minutes
Intermediate 1-3 Home School: This daytime class is for gymnasts who have passed all Beginner 3 level skills and are recommended by their coach. Participants will work on Intermediate 1-3 level skills. Please consult your coach for recommendations.
Duration: 75 minutes
High School
This class is designed for student gymnasts in grades 9-12 during the high school off-season.
Duration: 2 hours

Junior Team (Firecrackers)
Eligibility: By invitation only for children aged 9 and under.
Practice Schedule: 2 practices per week.
Enrollment: Rolls over each session.
Gymnast to Coach Ratio: 8:1
Junior Team (Sparklers)
Eligibility: For gymnasts who can perform the skills learned at the Intermediate 3 level.
Enrollment: First come, first served for any Intermediate 3 gymnasts.
Practice Schedule: 2 hours, twice per week.
Enrollment: Rolls over each session.
Gymnast to Coach Ratio: 9:1
Team 1-4
The River Falls Gymnastics Club Team Program competes in the Midwest Amateur Gymnastics Association (MAGA). Participation is by invitation only, and all Intermediate 3 gymnasts are considered for the team.

Evaluations
At the end of each session (please note that there are no formal evaluations during the Fall 2 and Spring sessions), gymnasts in the Tigers level and above will receive evaluations along with a recommendation from their coach regarding which class to register for next.
In our program, the average gymnast participates in the following number of sessions before advancing to the next level:
Advancement beyond Intermediate 3 is also dependent on the availability of space in the Team levels.
